Traditionally, you'll be spending this time of year buying presents for others (or starting to fret that you haven't yet bought any presents for others) but, as usual, SampleRadar has a gift for you. A round thousand drum samples are awaiting your attention: we've got single hits, complete kits that can be loaded into your drum machine of choice and a selection of ready-to-go loops. What you need to know The samples are split into three folders: Assorted Hits, Drum Kits and Rex Loops. The first two contain further sub-folders that let you know the type of hit and kit you're dealing with (both acoustic and electronic sounds are on offer), while the third features drum loops in the widely supported REX format.
All the hits and kits are supplied as WAV files so can be imported directly into your DAW or sampler of choice. The REX files can be loaded into any software that supports them. Because they're royalty-free, you're welcome to use the samples in your music in any way you like - all we ask is that you don't re-distribute them. The drum samples are supplied in a zip file, so you'll need to extract them before you can see them. The sounds were recorded from various analogue and digital sources and processed with various on-board effects and external gear. My favorite part of the pack are the drum machine sounds and acoustic drum hits which I’ve recorded to a cassette tape in order to enhance them with a bit of punch and grit. Some of the included drum hits were also passed through an old tape delay unit, resulting in a warm organic sound. Srs audio sandbox v1.9.0.4 keygeneral. The pack also includes a selection of modern electronic drum samples, some acoustic drums (captured with my trusty Edirol R-09 recorder) and a set of drums which were synthesized with various analogue and digital instruments (including the Korg Electribe ER-1 drum machine and the Lell UDS analogue drum generator).
I’ve also included a small set of lo-fi drums which were recorded from various toy instruments such as the Yamaha DD-5. The library contains 99 individual drum samples in 24-bit WAV format. The samples have been carefully edited, trimmed and normalized to -0.1 dB (expect for some of the cymbal hits which are peaking around -3 dB). October 11, 2014 at 1:41 am First off, I am an amateur. I have been making music with a pirated copy of Ableton Live, a measly M-Audio Profire 610, and cheap midi controllers for a couple of years in my free time. My progress has been so slow because don’t do this full time.

So take what I say with a grain of salt. If a studio engineer wants to tell me I’m full of s. and not appreciating gold, please do.

These too processed for my taste. I am not saying every drum pack should be completely raw, because Vengeance has some very cool processed sounds for example, but this collection is just a bit much.
There are better ways to get “grit” and “punch” than by putting them on a cassette tape and ripping them back off. Some of the more gimmicky sounds are cute though, I guess. August 31, 2016 at 12:15 pm Firstly, thank you so much for the samples. I almost can’t believe that you offer so many on a pay what you want basis. You saved me on a current project (used in Structure Free) and I’ll be back to purchase more. I have a question that’s maybe off topic I was impressed by how your digital download cart worked.
I wanted to offer digital downloads on my site but I wasn’t sure how the confirmation email, link to the download etc. I can code a little. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of how you guys set your downloads up? Is it custom coded? Anyway thanks again 99 for running an awesome site! October 19, 2016 at 3:38 pm These beats sound amazing!
Question though: I’m learning to code, and want to use these samples to learn to build a fun web-based drum kit. Would this violate the License by using the samples as source material for a virtual instrument? This would only be for me to learn, but if I’m successful, I’d want to display it for user interaction on my personal website. I wouldn’t stand to gain from it, wouldn’t offer the ability to record beats, and would give credit to 99sounds for the samples. Would this use of you guys’ awesome product be okay?
The library contains 99 individual drum samples, created with a variety of analogue and digital instruments such as the Lell UDS analogue drum synthesizer, Korg MS2000 synthesizer (keyboard version), an acoustic drum kit and the Korg Electribe ER-1 mkII drum machine, among others. Some of the sounds were also passed through my Echocord Mini tape delay unit and recorded to a cassette deck (and then sampled to digital format). The sounds were originally created for my personal use, but they’re now free to download and use in your music projects. One of the main reasons for releasing these samples for free was the launch of a music making contest on 99Sounds, in which the goal is to create an entire music track using only the samples and loops which are available for download on the site. I figured that the entrants would need some additional drum samples, so I’ve decided to compile all of these drum samples in a nice free sample pack.
To join the music contest on 99Sounds, you’re free to create a track using any DAW and any number of internal or external effects, however don’t use any synthesizers and any additional samples apart from the ones found on 99Sounds. The deadline for submitting your entry is November 15th. The prizes include Propellerhead Reason 8, Plug & Mix VIP Bundle, Cableguys Bundle, FXpansion Bloom, AAS Ultra Analog VA-2, AudioThing Valve Filter VF-1, Sugar Bytes Effectrix, an exclusive sample pack by Generdyn (creator of the brilliant pack) and a subscription to AskVideo. You’ll find more info about the rules and available prizes on the. I’d love to see some BPB readers joining the contest! It should be loads of fun to try and create a track without any additional samples, definitely a nice way to change your usual workflow and try something new.
